The Buffalo 1oz .999 Silver Bar is a SilverTowne Mint Minted Bullion Product. Located in Winchester, Indiana, The SilverTowne Mint has been manufacturing quality Silver Bullion produced with the Highest Quality Standards since 1973.

James Earle Fraser created one of the most instantly recognizable coin designs in American history when he developed the Buffalo Nickel. One of the first major American denominations to feature indigenous figures and symbols, the Buffalo Nickel was in production from 1913 to 1938. Today, the design lives on both at the United States Mint and in the silver and copper bullion products of private mints in the United States.

The Buffalo Nickel imagery is one of the most replicated US Mint coin designs of the 20th century. Private mints use the obverse and reverse images individually and in the original pairing on silver rounds, silver bars, copper rounds, and copper bars. The US Mint also uses the design in the modern era as the face of its American Gold Buffalo bullion coin, the first-ever 24-karat gold coin from the mint.

On the obverse of these 1 oz SilverTowne Buffalo Silver Bars is the right-profile bust of an indigenous tribal figure. His face offers a stoic expression with his hair braided at the side and feathers woven in near the back of his head. There is an inscription of “Liberty” above, with the weight, purity, and metal content below.

The reverse field of SilverTowne Buffalo Silver Bars includes a depiction of the American bison. While Fraser’s original Buffalo Nickel design captures the bison in left-profile relief, these bars show the bison in right-profile relief standing on its small mound of dirt. Inscriptions on this side include the nation of issue and the national motto of the United States, “In God We Trust.”
